The development strategy of Sawmill 25 reflects the mill’s mission principles. Our main strategic tasks are: To increase efficiency of the mill’s basic production by way of modernization of all the operational lines and creation of a modern woodworking industrial complex with a complete cycle of wasteless timber procession; To increase production output; To arrange constant supply of raw materials to the mill, to increase the share of certified and controlled raw materials in the total supply volume; To improve the system of management, to unite staff members into a highly-professional and solidary team. Presently Sawmill 25 is a leading sawmill enterprise not only in the Arkhangelsk Region, but in the whole North-West of Russia. It is also the leading Russian supplier of export sawn goods to Western Europe and North Africa. Diversity of production lines based on sawmill wastes processing helps the plant to strengthen its position in the economic system of the Arkhangelsk Region while remaining a woodworking company with a great reserve of profitability. By the end of the first quarter of 2007, Sawmill 25 has completed modernization of production at the Maimaksa production unit. Put in operation a new kilning complex, a dry sorting and packaging complex and a cogeneration plant working on sawmill production wastes. Parallel to development of the sawmill production process, the plant is closely studying the possibility to start production of further-processed goods to be both exported to Europe and sold at the Russian market. Having already obtained the FSCTM Сhain of Сustody Certificate, Sawmill 25 continues to improve its system of tracking of incoming raw material. The company’s management also believes that matters of personnel selection, creation of a system of training specialists on the basis of its own production, teaming up a solidary and highly professional labour collective capable of promptly fulfilling any task brought up by changing market conditions are no less important from the point of view of further development of the enterprise.
